So last Thursday Keegan was 5 months old! He continues to change daily keeping our lives very exciting.
He's been eating some veggies and fruits for a couple weeks now. He really dislikes peaches but carrots and sweet potatoes seem to be okay. He loves eating his solids. When you put the spoon of food in front of him he dives right for it! We have to be careful he doesn't choke himself on the spoon :-) He has also started to (kind of) hold his bottle. He grabs for the bottle and can usually get it into his mouth; although he hasn't figured out that he needs to tilt it up to get anything out of it! He has tried to feed himself solids too. He always grabs for his spoon so I let him try feeding himself. He took the spoon and shoved it right at his eye...he missed his eye with the spoon but got rice cereal in it and then started to cry. We decided to wait a bit before we let him try feeding himself again.
As far as for physical stuff, he can rollover like a champ. Generally he rolls from his stomach to his back. Last week he also started sitting up by himself. He can stay sitting up for a couple minutes at a time without support. One of his favorite things to do is to hold onto stuff and stand up. I guess standing makes him taller and makes him feel good about himself :-) He smiles and giggles and still "talks" up a storm. He is a hazard around a dinner table because he grabs for everything. He is absolutely fascinated with glasses. If we go out to dinner he always wants the water glass. If you let him touch it he will grab on and stick his mouth over the rim of it.
Last week he brought us home something wonderful from daycare....a horrible cold. I ended up having to take him into the doctor because his eyes were leaking green stuff (lovely). He's now on ointment for his eyes. Since we went to the doctor we got a 5 month weight and length for him. He was 17 lbs 8 oz and 25 inches long. He is back at daycare today and I can't wait to find out what other lovely things he will bring home....
I am also back at work full time this week. More on that later. For now I have to get back to work.
